Hi,

I am a very popular, passionate and award winning cinematographer. I am currently working on my 10th feature film. During the month of August I will be directing/producing a film for the first time and I am looking for an investor/executive producer to collaborate with me.

This film, due to my resources and connections in the industry, will only require a small investment to produce a very high quality production that is commercially viable. This smaller investment strategy will allow for greater profit. I have a variety of theatrical and DVD distribution connections in Australia and the US.

If you are interested in talking with me, and becoming a potential investor and executive producer please send me an e-mail with a request for the synopsis, and my contact details.

Hi Stephen,

I've just read your notes on film financing and find it quite interesting to know that you might be the person I've been looking for, for quite some time now. I'm in my mid 40's married with 2 boys and filmmaking is a passion. I am a self taught Manager/Producer with a slate of film projects currently in script stages. I am looking for a business partner with experience in film financing. I have big and small projects from all genres and contacts from Australia, NZ and Canada. If you are interested in finding out more I will certainly not be wasting your time. Please fill free to email me your contact details where I can get into contact with you. You won’t be disappointed.

Have you ever seen a financing plan? I'd be grateful to get a look at one just to see what it looks like, as I have to get one ready soon...

No, but I did get a distribution deal in place and had an Australian Distributor and Foreign sales agent contracted. The project didn't proceed because of delay upon delay upon delay from the Australian Tax Office concerning the Tax Ruling attached to the project

I agree Paul. You will find in a lot of other industries, concessions are given to SME, but in relation to the film business none are available. The exception being incentives offered by state governments to attract producers to a particular state.

it treats small funds the same as the mega funds

Isn't that also the problem with OFLC ratings? Doesn't it cost the same regardless of the number of screens a film will play on. Star Wars costs the same to be rated as an independant film playing on 1 screen.

Your right, it was the introduction of the FSR which introduced a very heavy compliance burden. The trouble with FSR is that it tries to cover every aspect of financial services as a result it treats small funds the same as the mega funds and makes no allowance for size and the proper (relativly speaking )of the investors funds compared to risk etc
